Everyone gives you advice when you have a kid. We help you create a plan for parenting.
Our mission at The Intended Parent, LLC is to help you create plans that will help you be the parent you wish to be.
Intended is defined as “purposed; designed; intentional.” That is truly what “the intended parent” is; a person who through purpose, design, and intention becomes the parent they wish to be. Families today are created through so many varied paths and permutations. At The Intended Parent we invite all parents, regardless of their journey to parenthood, to benefit from the tips, tricks, attitudes, and perspectives that will empower them to parent with purpose, design, and intention.
Whether your journey to parenthood involves surrogacy, adoption or other routes; if you're welcoming a newborn or infant, or managing a toddler - The Intended Parent can help you with everything from selecting agencies or clinics to building your relationship with your gestational carrier or birth parent(s), creating baby registries and organizing nurseries, devising travel plans to bring home baby safely and efficiently, developing short term and long term child care plans for newborns, infants and toddlers, and more.
Everyone will give you advice when you become a parent - often unsolicited and rarely tailored to the specific situation of your family. The Intended Parent works with our clients to come up with plans for parenting designed to address the unique needs of your family and creating space for you to parent with purpose.

The Intended Parent, LLC began in May 2020 following the birth of my first child through surrogacy. It was the height of the COVID-19 pandemic and I had to travel to Arizona with my husband, David, for the birth of our daughter and safely bring her home to Washington, DC. The level of purpose, planning, and preparedness that I employed to successfully execute on this challenge was a marvel to David, and our surrogacy agency, which began calling on me to share my expertise with other current and prospective clients. As friends and family members saw how I approached parenting they frequently asked for my expertise on everything from surrogacy journeys to packing for the playground to sleep schedules to planning travel with kids and everything in between. I have now had 2 children through surrogacy during the pandemic and want to share my knowledge and expertise with others on their own journey to parenthood.
Families come to be through so many different paths and permutations. Our approach at The Intended Parent is to be inclusive of every unique parent and to tailor our services to meet the needs of any family constellation. We are committed to helping you -through purpose, design, and intention - become the parent you wish to be.
Everyone from your close family and friends to the person behind you in line at the grocery store is going to give you advice when you become a parent. But what may have worked for them and their family is probably not going to work for you. The Intended Parent works with you to come up with plans for parenting that are designed specifically to meet the unique needs of you and your family.
